The UN Security Council has passed a resolution calling for a cease fire in Gaza. Why is it the Security Council does not act this fast when it is Somalia or Darfur where literally thousands of people are being tortured, raped and murdered each week? Is it because black people don't matter in the eyes of the UN Security Council? I would really like to know.

It's probably because:
1. What the UN does or says makes no difference with regards to Darfur and they know it.
2. Sudan refused the UN entry so they could only assess what was going on by speaking to people who have left. The government actively prevents people from finding out the numbers of dead, etc.
3. Darfur is not really two distinct ethnic groups warring with each other. It is a government murdering its citizens and they don't really care what the UN has to say.

But the UN has been heavily criticized for it's slow response there. http://www.iol.co.za/index.php?set_id=1&click_id=136&art_id=iol1160956523318B235

I don't know who I'lll vote for.

But here (http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/129336#replies) is good news! Israel finally found some sense, and isn't listening to the U.N.!!! Yippee! Now we can finish and be done, and not live in fear for the next 15 years because someone signed a ceasefire instead of finishing the war. :)

That's NOT the reason! The reason is "Halocho Esav Sonei Es Yaacov" and we don't have many friends out there! The UN hates Yidden!!!

I hope the US succeeds in working out a peace negotiation between Israel and Palestine. It’s time the two states strike a chord and be at peace. US is trying to bring about a two state answer to the problem. I doubt whether Israel will accept Palestine as a separate state as Palestine in turn has refused to accept Israel (http://samsonblinded.org/news/) as a Jewish state. US cannot ignore Israel’s prime concern about Iran and Egypt. The meeting scheduled next week should have an outcome.
