I found the link to a site about a documentary called "A Life Apsrt"
A Life Apart (http://www.pbs.org/alifeapart/index.html)
I looked at the various information found on it and the film seems to actually treat Chasidim in a very positive light (besides an interview with some Profesor at NYU and a girl thay fried out at 15) Has anyone seen this documentary, and if so is it worth seeing?

I have seen this film twice, and it is excellent. Definitely worth seeing. I don't recall how much it touches on Lubavitch, but it is definitely a positive film about chassidim. One of the producers is a frum guy.

The main figures in the documentary include R' Mayer Schiller, a Skver chosid who became a ba'al tshuva at a very young age; Professor Samuel Heilman, the media's "expert" on the chassidic world (for what it's worth  ); a kollel man from Williamsburg(?); a girl who went off the derech and now studies in University.
