Chur being killed

In today's Chitas (yoim sheini Ki sisa) Rashi writes the reason that Aaron agreed to do what teh people asked him to do was because he saw Chur being killed, a couple of pesukim later Rashi writes that Chur was killed the next day, (by "vayokumu l'tzacheik = shfichus domim), how do these two pirushim go together? I can understand if it would be written as two different midroshim, but Rashi brings is soisem and doesn't write that it's different midroshim.

I looked a bit in meforshei Rashi, and I don't see that anyone mentions this.

[The only thing which comes to mind is that when Rashi writes that Chur was killed the second day that is going according to pshutoi shel mikra, and the pirush that Chur was killed the previous day is only according to midroshoi. But it's very shver to kvetch it in, Rashi would not have been soisem like that.]

First ...that is according to the first part of Rashi where Yisro comes after Matan Torah after the Egel not the second half of the same Rashi where he comes before...

The second Rashi says according to Tanchuma Perek 20 which seems to say the 17th ...

Indeed...does the Artscroll Saperstein Rashi etc. note anything?

if you look in Sifse Chachamim in Mikras Gedolos he has what to say also about this point....

but nothing on Rav Chilin's shaila about Rashi bringing 2 different shittas on what day Chur died.
