In general we see many times how much the Rebbe encouraged people to go out of their way to send their children to The Rebbe's mosdos, and the many brochos that the Rebbe promises come along with education in one of the Rebbe's mosdos.
Concerning your specific question, There is a letter from the Rebbe in Igros Kodesh (vol 15, page 358 letter # 5,684) as follows:
".... you wrote that you have until now been studying in Beis Rivkah seminary, Kfar chabad...however in your parents' current situation, they can't afford the fees.
It is self understood that you should continue studying in Beis Rivkah, especially since you have been so succesful there, you should also influence your friends to follow suit.
Concerning the tuition etc, I am sure your parents will try again to speak to the faculty of Beis Rivkah, who from their part are also very interested to ease the burden on your parents. One just has to understand the fact that the seminary has to pay wages etc..
The Torah has already testified that the expenses of a Jewish person for the education of his children in Torah and Mitzvos, are a great asistance to him from above, to free him from all his debts...."

I don't know sources, but no doubt it is of utmost importance to keep children in Lubavitch schools/yeshivas. At times the investment could be difficult, but the results are well worth it.
I recall some people who received very strong answers concerning keeping their kids in a Chabad school.

Sorry that I cannot post the sources for these, but A) I'm not really good at finding them, B) I don't really have the time to look, and C) this specific issue is mostly in private letters of the Rebbe.
The Rebbe many times emphasized sending our children ONLY to Lubavitch Mosdos. That's as far as the personal.
To the Hanhalah, the Rebbe did not want them to send anyone away for financial reasons. The farthest back I know that this goes is to Bais Rivkah in Australia, where the Rebbe told them to put bunk beds in if they need to take in more kids.
