Hello everyone,

The article on the Three Oaths is currently under construction in Wikipedia. I and a few others are currently contributing to it, and attempting to form a balanced summary of the various views held by different authorities. I thought I would post here in order to ask that any of you who are knowledgeable regarding this subject, or feel that you can contribute to the construction of the article, please do so at:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Oaths

At present, the Lubavitcher Rebbe is mentioned only briefly in the following context:

# Others maintain that the people living in the land (ie, the Arabs) have to give permission - and according to some, even if they would permit the Jews to come there, it would still be forbidden. The nations of the world and the United Nations do not have any value in halacha; the only opinion which might be relevant, is the opinion of the Arab (today, Palestinian) people living in the land, who obviously did not and do not agree with the establishment of a Jewish state there.[14] However, this argument is not universally accepted in Ultra-Orthodox circles, and was rejected by others including the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Menachem Mendel Schneerson.

So perhaps some of you who know his position could add it to the article.

Note: Please try to remain apolitical, and refrain from performing original research or providing your own interpretations.

Thank you.

The Rebbe barely dealt with the issue. I don't know what the above is based on.
