The Rebbe said that people scream ad mosai but don't really mean it ,and the only reason they do so is because they were told to do so (and the Rebbe goes on and says for if it they meant it truely Moshiach would have been here already).

The shilach said the only one who really wants Moshiach [iow truely] is the Rebbe not us ,we only say we do [iow we only say we want Moshiach (or ad mosai) because we were told to do so]

So being that I am very dense today can you please explaine what is wrong with what the shilach said ?

I am not going to read into the shliach's mind, but: The Shliach may have told the truth which is lacking.

Only Tzadikim Gemurim can Really Want Moshiach. But by acknowledging our low status we may achieve some spark of greatness.

Why do you right away assume that he meant something wrong,maybe he mean to say what the Rebbe said.

Btw if it were not true what he said then as the Rebbe said Moshiach would have come already.

to respond to the two previous posts - his comment was a light remark, not part of the shiur, not thought deeply into, just off the cuff, therefore he neither meant "too bad ... etc." nor did he mean "uch un vey ... etc." It was a simple statement of fact.

I found his remark jarring because he made no further comment about it. If he said, laider ... we are still not yearning for it mit an emes, as we should, or Moshiach would have come already, that would have been great! But he said nothing of the kind. It seemed to me that after the Rebbe so shockingly said what he said on 28 Nissan, that in the context of a Chassidus shiur it would have been appropriate for him to have said something further.

It seemed to exemplify the Rebbe's prediction: "they will publish this, bind it, and it will sit on the shelf!"
