The more I replay his speech in my mind the more I think he said “and may he [i.e. the Rebbe] grant our requests” without the words “all of”. I originally wrote that he said “may he grant all of our requests” but I think I may have incorrectly added the words “all of”.

Whatever he meant – even if he just meant “may the Rebbe answer our requests for brochos” – is still interesting. Last night, I found a video of him speaking to the 5771 conference of shluchos and he opens by saying “I would like to begin my remarks with hakoras hatov to the Aibishter for His kindness, to the Rebbe for his brochos, and to those that made this evening and this kinus, etc...” I’m not used to hearing frum Yidden speak like this. I'm used to hearing frum Yidden thank the Aibishter for His brochos. I found on another thread a post by Yankel Nosson where he brings a quote of the Rebbe which says that a brocho from his father-in-law is a "promise" and that we should demand from the Rebbe that he fulfill his promise. Maybe this sicha is a key to understanding the quote “may he grant our requests”?

This is the meaning of "עושה רצונו של מקום"--that the Yid has the power to "make His will your will". What the tzaddik wants, this will be what Hashem wants.

Many times in chumash Moshe Rabbeinu causes Hashem to conduct Himself differently--Hashem's will follows Moshe Rabbeinu's will. Why? Because Hashem decided that a Jew has this power!

Is the Tzadik Hador's will really Hashem's will so that

A Tzaddik is completely bound to Hashem, Kal Vachomer! The Tazadik HaDor. The Avos were called a merkava to the point that the sefirah of Chesed wanted to destroy Avraham because he fulfilled the level of Chesed on a higher level then the chesed itself.

Is this so hard to grasp? That a Jew, a tzadik, the nosi hador had such a high connection with Hashem?

The Rebbe Rashab says in a maamar one of the things accomplished during Shemonei Esrei is that we are able to change Hashems will.

It is Hashems will that a Jew is sick and we pray and ask Hashem to change his will to "Rofeh Cholei Amo Yisroel"

If a Jew with simple kavanah can change Hashems will then only a fool would not request that a Tzaddik and the Tzaddik HaDor should request/pray to Hashem which will automatically change the will of Hashem

ie: Moshe Rabbeinu at the Chet HaEgel

There is a Moshe in every generation.

Machnisei Rachamim - Can we make requests of angels?

There have been great tzaddikim who have been able to command angels. However, making a request of an angel implies that the angel has freewill to either grant or not grant our requests, otherwise our requests would be meaningless.

Can we make requests of angels? If so, why would one do it?

Making/commanding them to be shluchim or requesting/asking them to be shluchim?
